MARTY FRIEDMAN: 'Music For Speeding' Promo Tour Underway!

February 2, 2003

The official web site of former MEGADETH guitarist Marty Friedman has released the following update on Friedman's current and upcoming activities:

"Marty is in Japan now continuing a massive promotional tour for 'Music For Speeding'. The tour started with 2 weeks of all day live radio interviews and jam sessions, with stations in Tokyo and nationwide. Marty reached an approximate 3 million listeners with the radio portion of the promotion and the promo trip is in the 2nd stage now, with a nationwide promo/seminar tour sponsored by equipment giant Roland/Boss. Marty spent 2 days at the Roland factory trying out secret new gear updates and advising the staff about ways to make the gear even better. Marty has been getting into the updates of the VG-88 effects unit which contains some truly jaw-dropping sounds. The initial reviews of the record in Japan have been great, and many non-metal, non-guitar magazines and radio stations are jumping on Marty's bandwagon for the first time. At the same time, European promotion is awaiting Marty as the European release is in February. He will hit 6 countries on this trip.

"Moria Records in Brazil will release 'MFS' in South America and a promo tour is in the works for that as well. Marty has always maintained a great relationship with his South American fans, and this will be his first trip down there to officially promote his solo music.

"In America, Steve Vai's Favored Nations is moving forward with promoting the spring release of 'MFS'. This is going to be a great campaign, and Marty is doing all he can to tour the US in the summer and get to as much of the US as possible! Get ready!!"
